CONCEPT PAPER:: ON UNAVAILABILITY OF LIBRARY IN MY VILLAGE

Education is one of the main infrastructures of development. Without education, development would cease to exist. Education and development go hand in hand. They are like two sides of the same coin. Education produces several kinds of skilled man power in today's era that not only develops the country but also the mentality about the people themselves. However, there are few underdeveloped countries who are still aware about its importance especially in the rural areas.

INTRODUCTION

My village, dharapani lies in the very Dang district of Nepal. According to the Ghorahi Submetropolitan city, the literacy rate of Dang has touched to 73% as per the last census taken. Now, as per the data, there are still few places in Dang where people still haven't taken any formal education whatsoever even though the literacy seems to be high. Now, as we can sense that library plays an important role in increasing the literacy rate of the region as the library possesses valid source of the information or knowledge for the people of their suitable interest. It is very important for a region to establish libraries for the sake of improving education in the country.

PROBLEM

As for the problem by my village, even though we know that library plays a very important role in determining the quality of education, the respected stake holders seem to be unaffected by the very fact that not even a single library as been established in my village. It seems to be so much unfortunate and illogical that the taxes that people pay by working hard everyday hasn't still been utilized by the stake holders to establish a single library. By such fact, even the children aren't gaining enough knowledge as the government has promised its citizens. The children who still undergo SEE examinations, there dropout rate has increased drastically. It is due to the absence of library that has led to such unfortunate condition the SEE appearing students. If this problem isn't solved with effective measures, the dropout rate is projected to be increased drastically. The locals have even pressurized the government for the establishment of libraries in their locality but the government seems to be ignoring the people with no reasonable response has indicated by the survey.

SOLUTION

There are several solutions to the problems that we have been facing. The most simplest solution is to be establish public libraries in our locality. In this case, stake holders can play a vital role in improving the quality of education in our region with effective decisions that would be hence sustainable and qualitative. The financial department of our country should be aware that a several budget must be taken into account for the establishment of well equipped libraries and henceforth improving the quality of education among the people. Now, as for the dropout rate among SEE appearing students. More and more sources must be equipped by the libraries such as ours giving most appropriate information reaching out the syllabus of the children so that they would have reliable sources from which they can gain knowledge as much as possible and thus by which dropout rate can be drastically decreased.

AIM

The main agenda for this project is to improve the quality education of the students. Along with that, this project also aims for the establishment of well equipped libraries providing its best education to the people of their suitable interest. Since, the problem lies with the absence of libraries in the locality and increasing in the dropout rate among the SEE appearing students. This project specifically aims for the decrement of the dropout rate that has hindered the education of the country. So, to put it in a nutshell, this project aims for the better education and tries its best to improve the literacy rate of the region.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The main problem in my village was that there was not a single library established in order to provide education source to the people especially the children where education is very necessary. In such context, the dropout rate had also been increasing drastically especially among the SEE appearing students due to the absence of necessary source for their knowledge. With this project, library shall be established with proper sources and sufficient books and items. Along, with that the dropout rate would drastically minimize among the SEE appearing students.

COST

As for the cost for building library, we need to take in accounts for the public schools, public themselves, government funding along with the budget received from private agencies. Their donations must be utilized in proper manner. Now, as for the context of budget, a small library with proper equipment takes around Rs.5,00,000 which is rather a lot but in order to prepare a library of small scale such is the budget that is required. The equipment's needed for a single small scale library include proper books for people of all age groups and it must include the course material of the school and college level students as well. Now, regular maintenance must be done in such libraries which would require some more amount approximately Rs.50,000. The workers should also be taken into account and as for them it would be a great help if the workers would be from governmental post such that the man power in the government would be utilized properly.

CONCLUSION

The project is really important for to increase the literacy rate of the region. As per the problems faced by our village, several students have been dropping out from grade 10 where they should be instead focused on their SEE examinations but due to the lack of books and equipment they are compelled to dropout their educational career which is a very big deal. So in order to cope with that problem, library establishing project is necessary especially in this region where dropout rate is high.

Post class Reflection week 5

august 5,2020       Again the day to learn something fun and interactive class was held on august 5,2020 and its our ENGT class conducted by our respected teacher EAK duwadi sir. The class begin with the quiz playing and as we know it was fun . First of all the internet was bad so I could not get chance to play but on another round I played and it was amazing. As   a part of our creative learning, Eak sir taught us to write a Diamante poem, which I found pretty interesting. It is a type of poem, in which a word is chosen and words describing it is also written in the successive lines. And then the words describing its antonym is written. And in this way, the entire meaning becomes opposite from the initially preceding word . Then some of my friends presented on “Memo Writing”. Memo was derived from memorandum which meant a message written for business or diplomacy. The memos are generally written to convey message to the staff or workers of any business company...

Post Class Reflection week 8

Today, on 2 nd  September, 2020, we attended one more English Class. I took today’s class with  same joy and excitement like the previous classes. There were 2 very interesting presentations which were lined up today to be presented. We all were desperate to listen to those  presentation and so were presenters.   So the first presentation was about the short story "Mr. know all"   written by  William Somerset  Maugham. This was a very interesting story that was presented in an even more fascinating technique. This story deals with the theme of “ Never judge a book by its cover” , with the mentality of people who still carry thoughts of racism.  The writer may be trying to show humanity and nature of women. Outer cover can never represent the inner reality . And the next presentation was about the investigative report prepared by Ayush Paudel.  An investigative report was generally made to make things clear about any incident. These typ...
